Next Generation Cricketers League Code of Conduct

1. SCOPE OF APPLICATION:
1.1 The Managing Committee of NGCL has established this Code of Conduct to ensure the integrity of cricket, promote the sport, and safeguard the well-being of its members and participating students. This Code of Conduct is an integral part of NGCL.
1.2 This Code of Conduct is issued and adopted by the Company to uphold the spirit and laws of cricket. It applies to all participants in NGCL, including players, parents, team officials, and umpires. Violations of this Code of Conduct will be addressed by the Management Committee/Disciplinary Committee promptly and fairly.
1.3 All matches shall be played in the true spirit of cricket, and all participants are urged to adopt and adhere to this code.
1.4 Participants shall not engage in conduct that goes against the principles of cricket, whether on or off the field.
1.5 All members, players, parents, and team officials commit to upholding the spirit of the game, respecting opponents, captains, umpires, and the traditional values of cricket.
1.6 Safety and security of the students shall be prioritized at all times.

2. CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PLAYERS:
2.1 All players, whether through their parents or individually, are bound by and required to comply with this Code of Conduct.
2.2 Players and their parents acknowledge their responsibility to understand and comply with the Code of Conduct’s provisions. They agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Management Committee/Disciplinary Committee for handling Code of Conduct violations.
2.3 Players and their parents commit not to initiate any legal proceedings related to Code of Conduct violations.

3. CODE OF CONDUCT OFFENCES FOR PLAYERS:
3.1 Cricket’s uniqueness lies in playing within both its Laws and its Spirit. Violations of the Spirit of the Game harm cricket. Any player committing any prohibited act under this Code of Conduct is deemed to have violated it. The Management Committee/Disciplinary Committee can initiate proceedings based on the Committee document.
3.2 Players shall not abuse cricket equipment, clothing, ground equipment, or fixtures during coaching and matches.
3.3 Players must respect umpire decisions and not show dissent or engage in provocative or disapproving behavior.
3.4 Players shall avoid using crude, abusive, or obscene language or gestures.
3.5 Players shall refrain from excessive swearing.
3.6 Players shall avoid excessive appealing.
3.7 Players shall avoid inappropriate and deliberate physical contact.
3.8 Players shall not advance aggressively towards the umpire while appealing.
3.9 Players shall not engage in deliberate and malicious distraction or obstruction.
3.10 Players shall not throw objects inappropriately or dangerously.
3.11 Players shall not use seriously obscene or insulting language or gestures.
3.12 Players shall not alter the ball’s condition unfairly.
3.13 Players shall not manipulate a match for strategic reasons.
3.14 Players shall not intimidate or threaten umpires.
3.15 Players shall avoid threatening assault on anyone.
3.16 Players shall not behave contrary to the spirit of the game or bring it into disrepute.
3.17 Players shall not resort to violence on the field.
3.18 Players shall not make racially abusive comments.
3.19 Players shall avoid distracting other players.
3.20 Players shall not engage in violence on the field.
3.21 Players must be punctual for training and matches.
3.22 Players must wear protective equipment as required.
3.23 Players must remove jewelry during matches and training.
3.24 No alcohol consumption during play.
3.25 Players shall adhere to dressing requirements.
3.26 Players shall comply with clothing and advertising regulations.
3.27 Players shall avoid match fixing or betting as detailed in Appendix A.

4. CODE OF CONDUCT FOR UMPIRES:
4.1 Umpires shall avoid detrimental public comments about cricket, matches, or NSCL.
4.2 Umpires shall not disclose alleged Code of Conduct breaches unless required.
4.3 Umpires shall avoid match fixing or betting as detailed in Appendix A.

5. CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PARENTS/LEGAL GUARDIANS:
5.1 Parents shall encourage fair play and compliance with the Code of Conduct.
5.2 Parents shall discourage disputes and unfair play.
5.3 Parents shall acknowledge good performance beyond results.
5.4 Parents shall promote sportsmanship and never belittle children for mistakes.
5.5 Parents shall foster children’s enjoyment and development in cricket.
5.6 Parents shall maintain respectful behavior.
5.7 Parents shall discourage violence and respect decisions.
5.8 Parents are responsible for their children’s safety and Code of Conduct compliance.
5.9 Parents shall avoid match fixing or betting as detailed in Appendix A.

6. CODE OF CONDUCT FOR COACHES/CAPTAINS/MANAGERS/TEAM OFFICIALS:
6.1 Captains shall instruct players to avoid time wasting and uphold fair play.
6.2 Other members shall follow appropriate behavior and attire guidelines.
6.3 Coaches, captains, managers, and team officials shall not engage in match fixing or betting as detailed in Appendix A.
6.4 Members shall prioritize safety and security of the students.

7. SANCTIONS:
7.1 The Management Committee/Disciplinary Committee will impose suitable sanctions for Code of Conduct breaches. Sanctions may include suspension or termination of participation.
7.2 The Committee will consider the severity of the offense in determining sanctions.
7.3 Decisions by the Committee are final and binding.

8. AMENDMENT & INTERPRETATION:
8.1 This Code of Conduct may be amended by the Company, effective on the specified date.
8.2 Article headings are

for guidance and do not alter the provisions’ substance.
8.3 Invalid provisions do not affect the Code of Conduct’s overall validity.

APPENDIX A
Any participant of NGCL, including players, parents, umpires, coaches, managers, and team officials, will breach this Code of Conduct if engaged in conduct such as:
1. Betting on matches or events.
2. Encouraging or inducing others to bet.
3. Engaging in financial speculation on matches or events.
4. Attempting to manipulate match results or occurrences.
5. Encouraging players not to perform on merit.
6. Receiving money or benefits that could harm cricket’s reputation.
7. Failing to report approaches for prohibited conduct.
8. Engaging in conduct prejudicial to cricket’s interests.
